Ekadashi Calendar Alarm ("the app", "we") is a small, ad-free mobile app that helps you observe Ekadashi fasting days. We collect only what the app needs to work and never sell your data.

1. Who we are

The app is developed and maintained by Roman ("the developer"). For any privacy-related question, write to .

2. What data we collect

We collect only the minimum needed to run the app:

  • Push notification token. A device-level identifier issued by Apple Push Notification service (APNs) or Firebase Cloud Messaging (FCM), used to deliver reminders. We do not link it to your identity.
  • Email address — optional. Only if you choose to enter one in Settings to receive email reminders about Ekadashi. You can leave it blank.
  • Location data — optional. Country and city you pick (or, if you allow it, approximate location from the OS) — used only to estimate parana (fast-breaking) time based on local sunrise and sunset. We do not record precise GPS coordinates.
  • App preferences. Reminder timing (1 / 2 / 3 days), language, and similar settings. These are mostly stored on your device.
  • Basic technical info. Device language, OS, and app version are used by our push provider for delivery and crash diagnostics.

We do not collect your name, contacts, photos, microphone, calendar, health data, or advertising identifiers.

3. How we use this data

  • To send Ekadashi reminders 1, 2, or 3 days in advance.
  • To compute and display parana time for your location.
  • To show the app in your preferred language.
  • To diagnose crashes and improve reliability.

We do not use your data for advertising or profiling.

4. Third-party services

To send push notifications we use OneSignal, which processes your push token and basic device information on our behalf. OneSignal's own privacy practices apply to the data they process.

The app may also communicate with our backend server to fetch the current Ekadashi calendar and to register reminders. This server receives only the data listed in section 2 and standard HTTP request metadata (such as IP address) needed to serve the response.

5. Where data is stored

  • On your device: language, reminder preference, local cache of the calendar.
  • On our server: push token, optional email, country/city, and reminder preference — so we can send your reminders.
  • With OneSignal: the push token and the minimal data OneSignal needs to deliver notifications.

6. Your choices

  • You can disable push notifications at any time in app Settings or in your device OS.
  • You can clear the email field in Settings to stop email reminders.
  • You can change or remove your city to stop using location data for parana.
  • You can uninstall the app, which removes all locally stored data.

7. Data retention and deletion

We keep your push token and preferences for as long as the app is installed and registered. If you uninstall the app, the push token stops working and is eventually removed from our records.

You can request deletion of any data we have associated with your device or email by writing to . We will remove it within a reasonable time.

8. Children's privacy

The app is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal data from children. If you believe a child has provided us with personal data, please contact us and we will delete it.

9. Security

We use industry-standard transport security (HTTPS) for all communication between the app and our server. No method of transmission or storage is 100% secure, but we apply reasonable measures to protect your data.

10. Changes to this policy

We may update this policy occasionally. When we do, we change the "Last updated" date at the top of this page. Significant changes will also be announced inside the app where appropriate.
